Once again, I had a great time at Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. I went down to Maryland early Saturday morning with my friends Jody and Christy. My camera did not come out of my bag once! The festival was crowded, but the weather was glorious-- sunny and just cool enough for me to wear my Seaport Skirt.
This is what I picked up this year.
At the top is 8oz of fiber. It's not for spinning! I'm planning to use it for a classroom project.
The three large skeins are Brooks Farm Mas Acero. I loved the yarn for the Seaport Skirt so much that I wanted more for another skirt. The color reminds me of denim.
I always get soap at MDSW from GotSoap.com. I love it!
The brown and the green skeins at the bottom are Creatively Dyed Calypso. I really love this yarn, and this is my third time buying it for socks. The green skein is for a friend.
And finally, the blue/purple skein is from the Sanguine Gryphon. When we first got to the festival, the booth was mobbed, and there was a line to get into the booth to look around. I didn't want to wait in the 30 minute line to pay! At the end of the day, however, there were only 1 or 2 people in the booth, and no line at all. There was still a lot of beautiful choices left, and I picked up this skein of Skinny Bugga.
After the festival, I got to have dinner with some old friends and spend the evening catching up with another old friend. It was really, really lovely!
Happy Mother's Day to all moms who are reading, and especially to my own mother, who taught me how to knit. Thanks for that, Mom, and for so many other things!
