I've been on a bit of a sock jag recently. I think it's because I've been darning holes I've worn into my older pairs of socks, and I'm (irrationally) worried that I will no longer have enough hand-knit socks to wear. It is hard to see holes appearing in socks that I so lovingly knit!
Also, I think the weather recently has driven me to socks. It's not warm enough to want to be sewing spring garments, and it's not cold enough to want to wrap up in sweaters. At least not for more than one day at a time, anyway. So socks it is.
Here's a pair that I finished up somewhat recently.
These were a fun knit. Once I got past the intricate top of the sock, it was an easy knit after that. I think that's a good combination: complicated to start when you need something new, and then easy after that. The first sock also got me through what would have otherwise been a very boring evening that I couldn't really escape, and I might always thing about that when wearing these socks.
I got this yarn at Imagiknit when we were visiting David's mom in San Francisco. I find Madlinetosh yarn to be pretty irresistable.
So yay, another pair of socks in my rotation. Hopefully that will keep all my socks in good condition just a little bit longer. I'll be back soon to talk about socks some more.
