Here is the current status of my Betty Jean McNeil sweater.
I finished knitting the body, and I cut the arm and top neck steeks so I could try it on. It's currently only seamed with safety pins! It took me quite a while to get started on the sleeves, but you can see that I have finally gotten a little bit finished.
For some reason, I really was not interested in starting those sleeves, so much so that I knit a sock while I was procrastinating.
This is the first half of a pair of Francies. I used some delicious Malabrigo sock yarn, and I'm sure the pair will be a favorite once it's completed.
The return of summer (sort of-- it's way too rainy here) has slowed my knitting progress recently. I've been all about using my sewing machine. More on that to come!
Both WIPs look great! Betty Jean is going to look fantastic in those colors.
How do you like the Malabrigo sock yarn? I have a skein, and it seems good in the skein, but I've read about a couple people being concerned that it is too soft to make a sock that will wear well. I hadn't seen Francie before. I have so many sock patterns I want to knit!

In the top photo, the chair rail looks like one of those bars in a dance studio, and with the full white skirt and "arm warmer", you look like a cold ballerina before rehearsal! That would make an awesome concept for a photo shoot with your sewn and knit projects! :)

Betty Jean will be gorgeous in those colors - you'll look picture perfect on a bench on campus come fall! I'm also amused that you had to begin a sock to procrastinate - I do that with mitts and hats.. Anyways, i've been lurking for a while, so I'll toss in how fun it was to see your "completed sweater" post and how gorgeous the finished quilt is!
Now treat yourself to some Thomases to celebrate summer next time you need a break!
