Hm, I think I'll bookmark that pattern in case I get bored of stockinette for my purse socks-in-progress. Which will probably be about the same time as I finish the second stockinette sock of a pair in about a week. Good to know of other options! Simple socks are really just as nice and soothing–if not moreso–than complicated and intense ones, I think. Especially when you're wearing them in the winter. =)

Elinor

I'm glad you said that because I am ALWAYS looking for the ideal purse project. It seems like everything other than plain ribs or stockinette gets too complicated. I just got some mottled brown sock yarn too. Perhaps I'll copycat you?

whitney

Gorgeous socks! I love brown, too. I think it's funny, when you say it goes with all your favorite colors, because that's something I like about it, too, but my favorites include green and blue...I guess brown goes with everything!

Amy

Oh, I love that pattern. Nicely executed, too!

stacey

a perfect pairing! I love brown too - I think it all to often gets shafted in the color world!

Dave

They're lovely -- the pattern stitch give just the right contrast to the striping, and wow, it striped beautifully -- well done!

Alicia P

Mmmm, I love those!

Kelly

I was the exact same way with brown.
Ewwwww brown I would say, and now I would wear brown before black. weird!

Jessica

I've been kind of obsessed with brown lately myself, but can't seem to find just the right shade. These came out lovely! Very soothing.

Ruth

Lovely! I love brown, too - it goes so well with green and blue.

Kim

I agree that brown is awesome. So are those socks. I especially like how the gray pooled into a slightly bigger stripe on one foot.

Beth S.

Your taste is impeccable. Good yarn, good pattern, delightful color (let's hear it for brown! And all its earth-tone buddies too! :-)

Anne

I really loved that stitch pattern, too. I knit them toe up with one of Cat Bordhi's sockitectures for the heel turn. Of course, I finished them 2 weeks ago and haven't managed to photograph them for Ravelry yet!

--Deb

Sounds like a perfect pair of socks to me! An I love brown, too--it's such a nice, warm color and, of course, goes beautifully with my hair and my dog! (grin)

nova

Brown is one of my favorite colors too. These socks are great. I brought 2 pairs of brown socks to work on while in California. It's not very California, is it?

Sharon

Oh I love brown and these are a perfect fall accessory. I'm such a sucker for semi-solid colorways.

tiennie

Those are awesome! I'm loving the brown too.
