I'm glad I learned how to spin. It's so relaxing and such a great conversational piece.

Beth

I'm glad I had a relatively small "rock bottom" moment and started taking steps to clean up my finances.

Happy blogiversary :)

Lynne E.

A few weeks ago, I purchased a Lendrum spinning wheel, in the hopes of finally learning to spin useable yarn in 2008. It's an advance birthday gift, and I'm absolutely delighted--this time, I think that success is within my grasp! It is all the bloggers' photos of beautiful handspun yarn that has motivated me to try, once again, to really learn to spin.

Dave

Happy bloggy-versary! How about, I gotta start ... knitting faster to use up the stash? (Don't enter me in the contest, please -- see above -- just wanted to share in the celebration!)

Bea

Happy blog birthday! We're so glad you started too! I'm glad I started the shop in November. I've made some good friends from having conversation with people and leading them over to my blog and learning about/reading theirs. I don't sell that much but I'm having fun making stuff for the shop and getting to know new people! There are so so many knitters out there. In 2008 I am so hoping to learn to weave. I don't know if it will happen because time constraints and space constraints, but its something I've been wanting to do for a while. I may get dragged into spinning. I didn't think that I wanted to but I've been petting pretty roving and handspun yarn at my knitting group. Don't we all want to have as much contact with the fiber as we can?? Sigh...at least learning to spin would be less costly then buying a loom.

Cheers,
Bea

i'm glad I started rug hooking recently, I found a community of fiber enthusiast's so close by and I didn't even know they existed. The only trouble is, they also weave, spin, knit, and quilt too......... I'm in deep trouble!
Happy Blogversary, I'm sooo glad I happened across your blog :)

Stacey

First of all - happy year blogiversary! Yay! I'm glad you are here too! One thing I started - just last night - was seaming a sweater I have been in denial about for a year - I have never seamed a grown up sweater, and I have been nervous - but thanks to the encouragement of my blogfriends, here I am about to have a sweater - to wear?! It's not perfect but Wow! Thank you blogland!

margene

Happy Bloggiversary!! It's so nice to have you as part of this community!

Jodi

I'm glad I started going to the gym again! Exercising destresses me and helps me sleep better at night.

Elinor

Happy blogthday, Kristy! I'm glad you're here! What have I started? Training for another half-marathon, baby. I'm so two dimensional - it's either running or knitting!!!!!!!1

Jessica

Happy Blogiversary!! I'm glad that you started blogging or we probably never would have met! :)

whitney

Happy blog birthday! I'm glad you started blogging, too!

One thing I am very glad I started recently is spinning. I am having such a blast learning how to make my own yarn!

stacey

Congrats!!! Yay!!

Hmm - I'm glad I started another project rather than a second sock. I have been even minutely sucked over to the dark side of single sock knitting thanks to you guys. Thanks.

Ingrid

Happy Blogiversary!

After some urging from a good friend, I decided to audition for a local production of Shakespeare's Twelfth Night. I surprised myself and snagged the lead role! Although those 121 lines are daunting, I am so glad to be involved in this production.

Erica

I'm glad I recently started applying for new jobs. We've been talking about a cross-country move for quite some time, but by actually applying for jobs in the new destination, I feel like we're going to get there soon!

Happy blogiversary!

Emily

I'm glad I started a new job! My old one was rotten, but more importantly I'm extremely psyched to be working in the yarn industry, and it has really helped inspire and push along my designing. These days, I'm really looking forward to what my future & career will hold! (PS I'm having a blog contest, too).

kseio

Happy Blogiversary! Don't enter me in the contest; I just wanted to say I'm glad you started blogging too!

Frances

Happy Blogiversary!!!!
I am glad I started taking chances again. If I hadn't I never would have met the man I now love or given him a chance to begin with.

ann

Happy blogiversary! I started going to the gym regularly in January... it has done wonders for my energy and general attitude.

Kirsten

Happy Blogiversary!
I'm glad I learned to crochet. It has opened up new avenues for my knitting and my designing ideas. I always thought of myself as "just a knitter". Now I know that the two go so well together.

Sharon

Happy Blogversary! I am certainly glad we met through SnB and the blogs are an extension of that communication. Thanks for sharing so much with us like your wedding pictures....although I love a good contest, you don't have to enter me as I have a mounting stash problem as I find yarns I never even put on Ravelry yet. YIKES!

Stephanie

Happy blogiversary! I don't comment but I read often. I think you take great pictures and knit some awesome things.

Personally I think I'd like to start a knitting blog. As you said, it's a way of entering into the community -- and this seems like such a great community to be in.

Keatyn

Happy Blogiversary!! I recently picked up knitting again after having knit when I was in elementary school and I have enjoyed it very much but I think the thing that I am most glad to have begun doing recently is started knitting socks because they are wonderfully comfortable and they provide me with enough challenge to keep me interested.

chrispy

I am glad that I had the guts to follow my dreams and start designing knitting garments. I started my blog last year so I could challenge myself to work in my art field. It worked to get my mind flowing about knitting and realized that I had gone to art school with the dream to be a designer and maybe one day see my name in print.

I am so blessed that these things are happening for me. It is a hard path to follow but oh so much fun.

Happy Blogiversary.

Michelle

Happy Blogaversary! I also just celebrated my first last month, and I'm so thankful that I started blogging. I'm met so many wonderful, supportive people.

I've been itching to learn to spin, but I'm afraid to start. I'm scared I'll be completely obsessed by it, and my other priorities (my kids) will be neglected!

Erin

I'm glad I started knitting again...I've been really busy with work and school, but I manage to get a fair bit of knitting done while I'm listening to online lectures.

tiennie

Happy blogiversary to you! (No entry from me - just wanted to congratulate you!)

Jean

Happy Blogiversary! I'm so thrilled you started your blog. You know you're one of my absolute favorites, right? I'm glad I started a prepared childbirth series of classes last night. While I am, of course, very happy to have started my pregnancy, I've been more than a little panicked about what's involved in ending the pregnancy, namely labor and birth. But this class is really helping put me at ease. It's amazing what some good information and coping skills can do to make you feel more ready and less frightened.

Kim

Happy Blogiversary to you! Thanks for the link for my blogiversary. I still need to post today. Obviously, the thing I started not so long ago that brings me so much joy is my blog. I really wanted to join the blog community but was a little afraid. Finally, the bloggers in my SnB convinced me. It's unbelievable all the "internet" friends I've made and the "in person ones" too, you included. The people are the best part. The other something I started recently is to read a daily meditation before I leave for work every day. It gives me something to think about and slows down the mad rush to get the train on time.

Ariel

Happy, happy, happy, happy blogiversary! I'm glad you started blogging, too. I'm glad I've given myself permission to write. Next step, giving myself the time to do it! Baby steps...

elise

I'm really glad that I was convinced to join facebook this summer. It is so geeky but so fun and I've been able to catch up with some old friends which has been wonderful.

I also second or third spinning. I'm very glad I learned how to do it, though I still need a lot of practice.

Lori

Happy Blogiversary! I'm glad I started reading blogs and blogging myself! Now there's Ravelry and a whole world of knitters at my fingertips! Grateful doesn't begin to describe it! You've been an inspiration with your wonderful knitting!

Meg

It's so funny that your blogiversary is today. Mine is tomorrow. I wish I had a cool contest planned like you do, but alas, my stash is pretty meager at the best of times. Anyway, I'm glad that I decided to take control of my life. Many times we get in situations where we don't like the circumstances and we are not happy but we feel we can't move and just stay put. I'm glad I had the courage to move, to not stay put, to listen to what I was trying to tell myself. I am much happier for it.

Jess

Happy Blogaversary! It is fun isn't it?!

Recently started... I'm glad I'm going to the gym again. After two kids and several years out of shape, my body and soul needed it! It feels great!

Liz K.

I'm glad that I started eating oatmeal for breakfast. It feels so virtuous to start the day with a healthy breakfast, and it motivates me to stay on track the rest of the day.

Happy blogiversary, Kristy! I'm so glad you joined the fray!

Sara

Happy Blogaverary! Does the thing we're glad we're started have to be knitting related? The thing I'm *most* glad I started recently is my family. Even though the baby isn't born yet, it's completely changed my priorities and my outlook on life. It's brought hubby and I closer together. It's opened my eyes to ideas and experiences that I may have *thought* I understood, but now realize that I didn't. It's amazing how even just preparing for the little one has completely changed my life for the better!

Mintyfresh

Congrats on one year! I can't believe you haven't been around longer--feels like we've known you forever.

I'm glad that I made the scary but Big Decision to quit my job and start a new life as a freelancer. Why keep putting it off? So far, it's been really satisfying. It's also only been 2 weeks . . .

Michelle

Happy Blogiversary! Kim said to come over and say hi. :-) So something new. Hmmm. I think starting fair isle is my new thing knit-wise. It's a challenge to get my tension right, but I'm loving how many new patterns I can look at and experiment with. Non-knitting-wise, we just got a new dog. It's my first one! I can't wait to read your next year of blogging.

Surfing over from Kim's to say Happy Blogoversary! I'd like to spindle-spin a sweater quantity of yarn and knit the sweater.
