I started making a pair of fingerless gloves for my mom. (Or "for me ma" as Mickey O'Neill might say.) The pattern along the top is adapted from a Japanese sweater pattern. I'm very happy with how the first glove came out.
Yesterday, I cast off for the first glove, wove in the ends, and immediately cast on for the second one. I was quite proud of myself for doing it right this time; there was no dallying around with other projects in between.
You might say that I did everything right with this pair of fingerless gloves.
Maybe a little bit too right. Sigh. What can I say that hasn't been said before?
I'm off to drink some more wine, and to frog.

Oh, no! They sure are pretty, though!

Doh! I hate when that happens.

Oi, that's a bummer. At least you noticed before you finished, right?

Oh no! They're beautiful so far. How 'bout making 2 pairs? :)

Oh darn!

Those are some very pretty gloves! :-)

OMG! But you'll have a pretty cuff when you frog back:) The glove is gorgeous nonetheless - can't wait to see the finished pair blocked - they will be stunning@

D'oh! They are beautiful.

I'm working on a pair of mittens and I'm so worried that I'm going to do this as well.

These are so beautiful! You'll work it out, and they will be fabulous!

I will admit openly that I've done it many, many times. You'd think I'd learn....I'm glad its not just me.
Mom's mitts are gorgeous.

Oh that has to be the most annoying thing to happen... I hate frogging. I'd rather carry on knitting and make 2 pair total! A pair for Me Ma and a pair for you perhaps ;-)

I don't suppose your mom could move her thumb? That's too bad, but you didn't get as far the Harlot before noticing, so that's good.
I love the color and the stitch pattern.

Oh, honey. But, hey, you've got a perfectly acceptable second cuff already started! They're going to be lovely.

So right it's wrong! At least you noticed before you finished #2. Absolutely gorgeous pattern & yarn!

Argh, what a bummer. Hopefully it won't take long to catch back up. They're going to be stunning!

:) oh no!!!! not like socks where they are interchangable...ugh!!!!
Posted by: stacey | February 25, 2008 at 07:50 AM
D'oh! That sucks. But the finished mitts will be smashing. And I got a good laugh out of it (does that make me a bad person?). :)
Posted by: Ariel | February 25, 2008 at 12:38 PM
Oh dear. That is SO something I would do. They do look beautiful though!
Posted by: Stella | February 25, 2008 at 02:05 PM
I am wholly opposed to ripping so I would be in the 2 pair camp. They do look marvelous though.

That totally sucks. Don't suppose you have enough yarn for two pair huh?
Posted by: Jessica | February 26, 2008 at 08:44 AM
I like the suggestion to make two pairs! One for her, one for you. :-)

I adore those mitts! The yarn, the pattern, everything! That totally sucks about the thumb, though. At least you get to knit the pretty pattern again, right?

Two rights do make a wrong. :(
