Lots of knitting and other very good, exciting things have been going on at Casa Eleven Stitches recently, but they've been overshadowed by some bad news.
My dad has been in the hospital for the past week, due to some complications following an emergency surgery he had a few weeks ago. I know that knitblogland is a very warm and caring place, and any good thoughts, prayers, warm vibes, or happy karma you could send his way would be very much appreciated.
In the meantime, I'm very thankful that I have knitting and warm kitties. They help.
Thoughts and prayers from my family to yours. I am glad that your little kitty is helping you through this time. If you need to talk please drop me a line, I'm a great listener.

I am praying for you and your family - it's tough to grow up and watch our parents deal with these things - we just want to take the pain away as they did for us when we skinned out knees as children. I love the "entitled" look on your kitties face - she was born to be right there on your chest - supervising!

I *so* know what you mean about how the knitting helps. I went through a horrifying experience this summer and the knitting was comforting somehow. It was something I could do. I couldn't control what was happening around me, but I *could* sit quietly and knit. Plus my 2 year old daughter to hug didn't hurt either ;o)
Praying for your dad.
Debra
