I've never felt the itch to spin. I'm not exactly sure why, because I know there are so many who love it. It was the same way with quilting. There are so many quilters who hand-dye their fabric, and I never really felt the need to do that either. I'm happy to focus on the knitting and the quilting.
One thing I do wish for, however, is the barber pole yarn that you can only really find in handspun. The Sock Hop yarn is perpetually sold out (unless you're lucky enough to land on the site just after they put up new stuff), so I did some looking around Etsy. I found this.
It's from the self-descriptive shop, Yummy Yarn.
It turns out that my orange cat, Sasha, also really likes it. I had to wait for her to scamper off before I could get some real pictures taken.
I'm looking forward to knitting with my first handspun. Next time, if I can't convince my friends to make me some barber pole yarn (hint?), I'm sure I'll again be able to find something lovely online.

That's pretty! I'm working on saving up for a wheel. I just went to my first spinning guild meeting and fell in love. I can't wait to spin like that, maybe we can get a swap going.

I'm with the cat. I want to curl up and take a nap on that lovely yarn.

See, it's pictures like that that make me want to take up spinning.

Those are just the cutest pictures of Sasha!!! Course, I got a thang for orange cats!
I was JUST telling my LYS owner that I want to spin yarn to knit socks!!! Weird.

I love barberpole for simple stockinette socks - I managed to score some Sock Hop in a total fluke, but this stuff looks very similar - I'll have to check out Etsy.

Awww....cute kitty! Although that isn't the cutest thing when you're trying to take pictures! Maybe we should think about this I'll spin you yarn for the use of your kitchen thing... ;) Or maybe you buy the sock hop roving and I'll spin it for you... Hmmm... the possibilities!

You know... wanting the yarn could lead to wanting to spin. Just saying. ;-)

Smart cat! That is lovely yarn, and I'm guessing by Sasha's enthusiasm that it is really soft, too.
How does Sasha like Philana? Have a great weekned!

I'm with you on that thought. I really enjoy quilting and knitting but have not interest in dyeing, spinning, etc.

How funny. That barber pole effect is what made me by my first drop spindle. I really like spinning with a spindle. It makes me focus on being patient for a bit. I need that every now and again. That yarn truly is yummy.

Love that the cat approves:) It's gorgeous!

I love that yarn - the colors are great. I have to say that I do spin, and I can make yarn like that - but I very rarely knit it. Weird.

Great yarn! One of my friends just got her first wheel, and I'm really excited for her. Also very excited for me because I bet I can wheedle some awesome handspun out of her.
