It's been a while since my last post! It's not very nice to announce a comment contest and then not give you anything to comment on, is it? Sorry about that. I've been doing some work on gifts recently. This has been fun, but not (yet) bloggable since the recipient might be reading.
I've been working on my other projects too. My second second sock is for my Sockapalooza pal. The deadline is approaching! I'm only one repeat away from turning the heel, so I think I'm in pretty good shape.
I got a lot done on my Ming sweater while I was in Rhode Island. It's not very interesting knitting, so I've been ignoring it at home. But it's great for those times when I'm sitting around and talking with other people!
I've completed the sixth repeat on my Shetland Triangle. It's still a lot of fun to knit, although I can really feel how much longer the rows are getting now!
I'm hoping to get a lot of knitting done this weekend, although I'm also hoping to read a lot of Harry Potter. I haven't gotten that knitting-while-reading thing down, so we'll see which one wins more of my attention. Have a great weekend!

wow...looks like i'm first! i can totally understand the increasingly long rows on the shawl...on mine, i got excited when i realized that there are only a handful of rows left before I hit the chart part...then, when it occurred to me that there are 200+ stitches on each of those rows, i realized that only a few rows is still a LOT of knitting!!! it's become my lunchtime project at work

I was trying (yet again. still in vain.) to read and knit just last night. I realized my huge hang up is that I need both hands to knit and generally need both hands to read. Even if the reading material will cooperate and lay open nicely (which it hardly ever does), those pages don't flip themselves. All your wips are looking super fandabulous. I love 'em all.

I haven't gotten down the knitting & reading at the same time. Maybe I'll practice this weekend!

the sweater looks great - that is going to be nice!
I can't read and knit either - seems like my mind can only do one thing at a time!

I'm not sure I would WANT to read and knit. I mean, yeah, it would reduce the amount that knitting cuts into my reading time, which is something that's been bothering me lately, but part of why I love reading is that it's so absorbing, such an escape...
Your WIPs all look great -- I especially love the sweater.

I do love those socks!! All you WIPs look great!
My Sockapalooza pal's socks are to the point that I think I should begin the toe but I'm waiting to see a friend of mine who has the same size feet as my pal just to be certain.
I feel I am going to read until I have to have a conversation with someone and then I will knit. You know, I have to talk to my husband at some point.

The Ming sweater looks very pretty. I love the color of your shawl too. That yarn is so rich. I can't wait to see them both completed. Have a great weekend.

My strategy for this weekend is to take turns reading aloud with my partner. When she reads, I knit. It works well for both of us.

Those are really nice knits! You're getting tons done! I have internet issues, so I'm playing catch up. ugh...

Those all look great! I might have to knit that Shetland Triangle too!

Good luck with the projects! Your Shetland looks like my Flowerbasket right now!

Lookin' good!
I CAN read and knit, but like someone said, it's turning the page that gets me. I'd rather knit and watch a movie or TV. Books require all of my attention, as I love everything about reading them.

I feel your pain. I'm trying to juggle knitting, reading, and writing a grant today. So far I'm not too happy about which one has been winning my time. :(
I'm loving the subtle variations in the Ming sweater & looking forward to seeing the finished product!
