We have a winner! Thanks to all of you who voted. I chose to start on the Merino Lace Socks, which was #2 on the list. It's been a long time since I knit the first sock, and I was really starting to miss the yarn. Jessica was the lucky one of three who voted correctly. (I used random.org to help me draw the winner) ETA: As Kim pointed out, Jessica is a very appropriate winner. This is my first sock started in the Summer Of Socks 2007, and SOS would not be possible without Jessica!
The color in this picture is pretty true. If you look at it up close, you can see that there are all colors between bright red and dark purple, but they read well enough as a solid to show off the lace stitches. It's so much fun to knit up!
I have to admit that I also wanted an excuse to get some more Wollmeise yarn-- I'm not just buying yarn for Jessica! I'll be asking these gorgeous yarns to join my stash as well.
Here's the breakdown on voting.

So many votes for the Sockpal sock! You people were giving me a complex! Don't worry, it will be done in time for the deadline, but I could not knit the same sock twice in a row. That defeats the whole purpose of single socks, in my opinion :)
Thanks for adding your reasoning with the votes, also! It looks like some of you had definite ideas on what my next sock would be (and you looked like you were trying to convince me as well ;) ) and some of you just wanted to get some good yarn. This was a lot of fun!
