I finished the 8th repeat on my Shetland Triangle shawl last night. I had 20g left on my 3rd ball of yarn, and an entire 50g ball after that. It felt like I would have enough yarn to do an extra repeat on the shawl and still have enough to do the edge chart, but I wanted to make sure.
Wow, I hadn't done algebra in a long time! My (PhD in math) fiance checked over my work, and said it looked pretty good. I should have plenty for a 9th repeat and the edge chart. Yay!
Another number to report: 1000. Stacey won my comment contest this morning! I discovered Stacey's blog a few months ago, back when she had just finished her fabulous Turkish Stockings. We've been blog friends ever since, and I even got to meet her in real life at the Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival. Congratulations, Stacey! You've got 2 skeins of Artfibers Hana coming to you.
I also wanted to thank everyone who stops by my blog. This has been so much fun-- even more than I imagined it would be before I started. The knit blog community is such a creative, inspirational, and supportive place, and I'm glad we're all a part of it.

Congrats on 1000 comments! And congrats to Stacey for winning. Look at you doing the math to figure out you've got enough yarn left. I really admire that. I tend to just keep on knitting and fret with every stitch about running out. It's good to have a math PhD around. Can I borrow him next time hubby and I are out with our friends and trying to split the bill at the end of the night? It's comical how useless we all are with that stuff.

Go you with the math! It's kind of empowering to figure that stuff out instead of doing like me and guessing... :) Glad we "discovered" each other's blogs!!!!

Congrats on 1000! Is it wrong that it's kinda fun to do that math?

i really thought you were going to say you didn't have enough. all i could think is "can't she ever get a break with the amount of yarn she needs?"
glad it worked out differently this time :)

I didn't believe my math teachers when they told me I needed math everyday. :)
Congrats to Stacey! :D

Glad you will have enough yarn. Algebra can come in handy.
I should check my blog stats. I was almost to 800 comments about a month ago. I've been a bad blogger this summer. Congratulations on receiving over 1000 comments!

Congrats on 1000! Time flies no? My scientific formula for yarnage? Does the ball look like it will cover the required knitting? ;)

Look at you busting out the math! If it were me I'd mess up the calculations and run out of yarn anyway. ;-)

Wow! That looks like a lot of math! Better him than me. ;)
