Sacha

I like option A; those are wild colors and it's a chart you came up with. If it still seems murky, then I'd go for C. I really like that sherbet color.

knittingphilistine

Definitely the chart pattern with Option B yarns. Though I feel the compunction to openly admit that I'm scared of the sherbet yarn. :) Clearly, I am *far* from wild and crazy.

Suz

I'm voting for A.

Good luck!

kelp!

Option B - I think the darker colors in the Sherbet yarn will cause colorwork issues, too. I love your chart and totally want you to use it!

pamela wynne

B! B! B!

Tanya

I vote for A, also.

I LOVE the sherbet!!!

kim

I vote B, although I highly recommend you try the Twisted Flower pattern at some point.

stacey

A!!! I think that yarn with the really dark background will be awesome!!!!

Sara Payne

ok...resident crazy person here, but i LOVE the sherbet yarn! i love crazy bright variegated yarns, so i think something with that would rock. but you know me, i LOVE color, and i'm not afraid of bright ones :-)...tee-hee...and to think you're letting me make your wedding cake :-)

Jenni

Oh, I'm the dark horse voting for D. I love Cookie A's sock pattern and that pink is definitely outrageous (truly, truly, truly outrageous!).

Cirilia

I also love D but I love B as well!

Jean

That chart is awesome! It's extra awesome because you came up with it. (Amazing job, btw!) I think it would be great to use the chart, so either option A or B look good. But, the truly outrageous option is Argyle with Sherbert. The Sherbert is fantastically outrageous and I think there's enough contrast between it and the Argyle, that you'll get the look you originally wanted. So I vote option A.

Courtney

Oh MY, what a LUCKY sock pal you have!!! I would swoon for any of those options and frankly can't choose! The stranded options (both of them) would be amazing as would either of the other two.

Seanna Lea

Those are stunning. I would go with the wild yarn paired with the black (I think that is Option A).

One of these days I'll do stranding. Gosh, it is just looks so good!

Patti

I like option B.

Trish

I think A would be super! I love the effect of variegated and a dark solid, and the chart looks great.

elise

I kind of like option D. That pink is so pretty.

Kim

Option D. Although they are all damn nice & loud.

Helga

I vote for B also. I also think that the black will cause problems with the variegated yarn. The strong contrast of black and pink will make your chart stand out perfectly.

Gina D.

I Love Option A, your pattern is great!

nova

I think the sherbert is good on its own. My pal wanted "wild and crazy." I assumed that I could used one color...I assumed wrong, s/he didn't like particular colors on their own...does your pal like pink? I, of course, am biased; but, it might be worth checking into...just a thought.

corinne

I vote option D. But I have to confess, it's because I'm not normally a pink person, so I think combining the bright pink with that gorgeous sock pattern, would be both beautiful & outrageous! :)

fabienne

i vote option A! i love your colorwork pattern and i think it would look fab with the solid and the sherbet color. i still don't have a pattern or a yarn for my pal *sigh*. back to the drawing board.

Christine

I vote option D, I love that pattern! Is lover's leap really hot pink? Red is so hard to photograph, on the website is looks dark red. I was thinking about using it for Gryffindor socks but with your description I might need to find another color.

Christine

I also like option B. Those colors look great together.

kim

I vote for C or D. The colorwork chart is beautiful, but I don't know if it qualifies a wild.

Kelly

the chart the chart!!!

Lori

I vote for D. I LOVE that color!

Diana

I say definitely the fair isle.....with either a or b! That is soooo cool! Fair Isle still mystifies me! I knit too tight to make it work right. I cant wait to see what you end up doing. Regardless, you have one lucky pal!

Nora

B abd D

Laura

Hee, hee! Aren't you glad you asked? Are you more confused than ever? I vote for Option D! Those are socks I'd love to make or receive.

Karla (threadbndr)

I'd go with the color work - the dark and sherbert should work out fine if the dark is darker than the deepest part of the sherbert (if THAT made any sense!;-)

All of the options are lovely, though.

tiennie

I think any of the above but I'm leaning towards D.

Nightowl Knitter

I love the fair isle pattern and the crispness of option B!

sb

I'd totally go for A. I love how the colors on the varigated yarn move through your fair isle pattern. And I think those will be extra-special socks since you came up with the pattern yourself. Of course, if the colors don't contrast enough (as someone else suggested) then you might be frogging again and going for B... I can't tell what the "real" colors are on my computer screen, so if they are a high enough contrast, go for A. Love the ideas you have come up with! All are wonderful.

amyt

Wow - the chart is beautiful and impressive, and so I'm tempted to vote for a, but thinking about wild and crazy I have to vote for C! That yarn is gorgeous and I think it'd be awesome even if you don't go with a variegated friendly pattern - even more wild and crazy!

Carrie

I like option B, I think that the colors will be nice and contrasty. I love that hot pink STR, too!
