The thing about cabled socks, they use up a lot of yarn. With lace socks, I often have a fair amount of yarn left over. Because of this, I wasn't too worried about running out of yarn with my Cablenet socks. After completing the first sock, I weighed the finished sock and the remaining yarn. Hmmm, they were both 51 grams. I'm sure it's fine. As I was knitting, I would glance at the dwindling ball and think "Oh yeah, that's totally enough." La la la la.

Oh Dear
Yeah, it turns out I was a little bit short. You might notice there are six stitches on each needle. I was supposed to knit another round, decrease, knit another round, decrease once more, and then graft the toe. There just wasn't enough yarn.
I considered various possibilities. I could make the toe a little short. I could unravel the top of the sock for one round and bind off again. I didn't like either of these options.
I spy a rosy-toed sock knitter!
The last four rows are done in pink. I like it!
I wore the socks to work. It was fun to see them brightly peeping out.
A full finished object report will be out soon!

I love it! It's like walking around with a naughty secret.

Love your solution! It's like a little hot pink sunspot on the toe of your sock.

Oh, I love the pink toe! Makes your pair unique, though I will admit that the just-almost-enough-but-sometimes-not-quite sized skeins of STR irk me. I mean, come on! Can't they make their skeins 400-440 yards like all the little indie sock companies?? I think they can spare just a teensy bit more yardage. Inhale. Exhale. Rant over. Back to you: the socks turned out great, pink tip and all!

Oh no! The "no more yarn for the toe" disease is spreading! Sorry to have passed it on. ;)
